Before moving to Michigan, I taught middle school and high school mathematics for 8 years in both public and private schools in New York, Hawaii, Massachusetts, and New Jersey. I am interested in in-service teacher learning. Learning to teach is complex and as the demands placed on teachers increase, teachers' abilities to learn and adapt become increasingly important. I am particularly interested in what and how teachers learn from new curriculum materials and in doing research that helps teachers improve their own classroom practices.
